Dermal fillers and Injectables that visibly slow and reverse the ageing process.
The following are the main characteristics and uses in aesthetic medicine of all Injections & Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines, soften creases, or enhance facial contours. Hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvéderm and Restylane are the most popular, but other types include those made from calcium hydroxylapatite, poly-L-lactic acid, and polymethylmethacrylate microspheres.
Botox, a brand name for a form of botulinum toxin, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates facial fine lines and wrinkles. Common areas for Botox injections include the forehead, around the eyes (crow's feet), and between the brows. It works by blocking the nerve signals to the muscles, which reduces muscle activity that causes wrinkles. Botox® Treatments Uses Botulinum toxin to temporarily paralyze muscle activity, effectively reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles, particularly in the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes (crow's feet).
Juvéderm is a range of hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. It is used to restore or add volume to facial tissues and smooth out deeper folds and wrinkles in the face. Juvéderm products are commonly used for enhancing lips, diminishing nasolabial folds, and contouring facial features like cheeks and jawlines.
Dysport is similar to Botox in that it is a type of botulinum toxin injection used to treat wrinkles. It is particularly effective for glabellar lines, the frown lines between the eyebrows. Dysport tends to have a quicker onset and a slightly wider area of spread than Botox, which can be advantageous in certain areas of the face. Another form of Botulinum toxin used to treat moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows without altering the look or movement of the rest of the face.
Xeomin is another botulinum toxin type A product used to treat facial wrinkles. Unique for its "naked" formulation, Xeomin does not contain any additives, which potentially reduces the risk of developing antibodies against it. It's primarily used for frown lines between the eyebrows. Xeomin® is a Botulinum toxin type A injectable that temporarily improves the appearance of frown lines between the eyebrows, with a pure-form formulation that minimizes the risk of antibody resistance.
Jeuveau, often referred to as "Newtox," is a newer neuromodulator on the market, also made from botulinum toxin type A. It is specifically approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. It's aimed at a cosmetic audience and is similar in effect and use to Botox.
Skinvive is a newer, less commonly known treatment and might refer to various skin rejuvenation treatments that focus on revitalizing and enhancing the skin's appearance. It could involve the use of lasers, RF (Radio Frequency) energy, microneedling, or other technologies to improve skin texture, tone, and elasticity.
Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) based injectable dermal filler that helps stimulate the body's own collagen production. It is used to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds. Sculptra is unique because it works gradually, improving facial volume and the appearance of wrinkles over time, with results that can last more than two years after a series of treatments.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) and PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) are treatments that use the patient's own blood components to stimulate skin rejuvenation and hair growth. PRP involves drawing a small amount of the patient's blood, centrifuging it to concentrate the platelets, and then injecting this platelet-rich plasma into the target area. PRF is a next-generation PRP treatment where blood is centrifuged at a lower speed, resulting in a fibrin matrix rich in platelets, leukocytes, and growth factors. These procedures are used for facial rejuvenation, improving the appearance of scars, and promoting hair growth.
Belotero® Balance A hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler designed to smooth out moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, particularly around the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds).
Blume Liquid Face Lift A non-surgical face lifting technique that uses a combination of injectable fillers and neuromodulators (like Botox) to lift and rejuvenate the facial features, providing a more youthful appearance without the need for surgery.
Daxxify™ A newer neuromodulator injectable that temporarily improves the look of frown lines between the eyebrows by blocking nerve signals to muscles, similar to Botox but with a formulation that may offer longer-lasting results.
Hyperhidrosis Treatment Involves injecting Botulinum toxin into the underarms, palms, or feet to temporarily block the nerves that stimulate excessive sweating, effectively treating hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
Juvéderm® Fillers A range of hyaluronic acid-based fillers used to add volume to different areas of the face, including lips, cheeks, and around the mouth, reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Kybella® An injectable treatment designed to reduce submental fat, or "double chin," by destroying fat cells in the area under the chin.
Non-Surgical Butt Lift with Radiesse® Uses Radiesse, a calcium hydroxylapatite-based filler, to enhance the shape and volume of the buttocks without surgery, offering a lifted and contoured appearance.
Radiesse® A dermal filler that not only corrects wrinkles and folds but also stimulates the body’s natural collagen production, providing long-lasting skin volume and improvement.
Restylane A line of hyaluronic acid fillers used to treat wrinkles, enhance facial features, and add volume to the skin, with various formulations tailored to specific areas and concerns.
PDO Thread Lift A minimally invasive procedure that lifts and tightens sagging skin tissues by inducing collagen production using Polydioxanone (PDO) threads, which are eventually absorbed by the body.
Volbella® Undereye Filler A Juvéderm product specifically designed to address under-eye concerns, such as hollows and dark circles, by adding subtle volume and smoothing out the area for a refreshed appearance.
Each of these aforementioned injectable treatments offers specific benefits for facial rejuvenation, contouring, and medical treatments, providing options to address a wide range of aesthetic concerns.
